The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) is a Pentecostal denomination founded in Yaba, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria in 1989, now with churches in several countries. It was founded by Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya.

From humble beginnings in the home of Olukoya, MFM has grown to over 300 churches within Nigeria and branches in African and Western countries. Those branches located outside the African continent mainly cater to African immigrant population.

1: MFM started with a prayer meeting: In 1989, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya (DKO) held a prayer meeting in his home. Reportedly, only 24 people showed up. This number grew and grew until a bigger place was needed. After a while, the meetings moved from Olukoya’s living room to 60 Old Yaba Road, Yaba, Lagos. Eventually, an abandoned place at 13 Olasimbo Street, Onike, Yaba was bought and turned into what we now know as the International Headquarters of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
2: This church has no interest in the world: On the site, it states that “it is not a worldly Church.” This makes sense when you consider what the church is about. No wonder it is constantly attacking indecent dressing.
3: In Mountain of Fire, they don’t celebrate Christmas because they believe the root is demonic.
4: Afro wig hair, Rubber hair, hair tinting, Relaxer hair perming, attachment are prohibited in the Church.
5: Aggressive prayer is valued at MFM as a tool for maintaining spiritual focus and a safeguard against giving in to the flesh. At MFM Prayer City, there is a nonstop prayer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
6: MFM has a football team known as MFM FC. The club’s stellar performance has earned a position among the first-tier teams in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
7: MFM teaches members about dealing with ancestral spirits and the existence of hidden evil and spiritual forces against progress toward the fulfilment of one’s destiny.
